    The Department of Labor and Social Security was established in 2001, mainly focused on the developement plan and day-to-day administration of the undergraduate program (Labor and Social Security) and the master degree program (Social Security). The department began to enroll undergraduate students majored in Labor and Social Security in 2002 and postgraduate students of Social Security in 2011.

    The Department of Labor and Social Security has professional teaching staff which is composed by academic leaders, key teachers and other full-time teachers , based on reasonable academic structure, age structure,professional title structure and high education level. Until now, there are 8 specialized teachers in the department including 1 proffessor,4 associate professors and 3 lecturers. Moreover, 6 of them has received Doctorate, 4 has been working as Master Tutors.

    The Department of Labor and Social Security takes charge of all the core courses for undergraduate students, most of the specialized courses and main courses for postgraduate students of Social Security. One of those courses, Social Security, was awarded as Excellent Course by the univeresity in 2011. The department has been commended by school and university, and won the honor of ‘Advanced Party Branch’ repeatedly.

    The Department of Labor and Social Security has been developing academic researches around the theory and practice of labor and social security since its establishment. The characteristics and superiority of the discipline is gradually formed. Besides, the department has gained significant achievements, especially the ones about the Social Security of Rural Areas of Ethnic Minority.

    In the past 5 years, the department took charge of 3 projects of National Social Science Fund, 6 projects of provincial and ministerial level, and more than 10 other projects. Meanwhile, 5 academic monographs, over 20 academic papers on CSSCI and authoritative journals were published, too. All these academic achievements have drawn the attention of the domestic theorists and enjoy great prestige. Furthermore, the achievements greatly support different levels of governments in ethnic minority areas to work out develop strategy and policies of economy and society.

    The Department of Labor and Social Security always sticks to the purpose that service for the economic and social development of ethnic minorities areas. Therefore, the department has trained a large numbers of high-level talents, many of them have been the key men in Party and government departments, national key universities and academies of the ethnic minority areas.
