On the morning of October 9th, the reading and speech contest of young faculties of SFL was held in the conference hall of Meeting Hall of the No.1 Teaching Building. Dai Yingfeng, secretary of the Party committee of SFL, Yi Lixin, dean of SFL, Wei Yingzhong, commissary of organization of the Party Committee of SFL, Chen Xiaoxi, deputy secretary of the Party committee of SFL and Liang Shuxuan, Chairman of SFL Labor Union attended this contest. The judges of the contest were the national Mandarin tester Luo Yan, provincial Mandarin testers Feng Yanling, Li Xiaofang, and Zhang Zhaoqin, and Liu Tiantian, the first prize winner in the "May 4th" Teacher Speech Competition of National Ethnic Affairs Commission of the People's Republic of China. All six contestants were representatives of Chinese and foreign teachers from different departments of SFL.
During the competition, contestants expressed their profound thoughts on personal responsibility, teaching and research, and national development based on their own experience of fighting against the epidemic, teaching and reading. Through interpreting the book Doctor Zha's Diary of Assisting Hubei Province, contestant Chen Dan focused on the dedication of the general public to fight COVID-19 and expressed teachers’ determination to defeat this epidemic. In addition, she eulogized the spirit of unity and believed we would finally realize the Chinese dream.
After the contest, Liu Tiantian, on behalf of all the judges, commented on contestants' performances respectively. All the judges agreed that their performances were not only vivid, but also sincere and fluent, showing a high degree of social responsibility, the original aspiration and mission of the faculty of SFL.
In this competition, Chen Dan won the first prize. Liu Chun and Zeng Suying won the second prize. Chen Lishan, Liu Lei and Lyata were awarded the third prize.
