Youth Volunteers Association

　　The Youth Volunteer Association is a student’s group formed by students of the faculty who are willing to devote themselves to social services. The Association has promoted spiritual civilization of the faculty and improved students’ comprehensive quality in the way of organizing and guiding youth voluntary work to the faculty, school and society

　　Based on the compliance with the Constitution, laws, and "Student Rules and Regulations of the South-Central University for Nationalities”, as well as adherence to the criterion of "dedication, friendship, mutual aid, and progress", the association has carried out a series of volunteer activities, and has coordinated with the school’s youth volunteers association. Moreover, the association is devoting itself to build a renowned youth volunteer organization of the campus whose purpose is "loving and helping everyone".

Special Events Description:

　　1.  A series of activities of “helping them fly “on the Muslim primary school students.

　　（1）Becoming a little Lei Feng. The association brings the theme activity of “becoming a little Lei Feng” to the Muslim primary school in the Wu Chang District. Volunteers and the pupils advocate the concept of the “be polite when going out” and appeal to pedestrians to obey the traffic rules. This activity not only publicizes the concept, but also makes the children join the volunteers work .In this way, the voluntary service consciousness is inherited and developed.

　　（2）Sunshine Dancers 
Sunshine Dancers is a pilot non-profit grogram which is started in the Muslim primary school by the association. By hiring professional dance teachers, the association help children from poor families realize their dancing dream for free. Its intention is to bring happiness and hope to these children with the help of society.

　　（3）Thanksgiving themed events

　　Volunteers go to the Muslim primary school in the Wu Chang District every year for the volunteers work .The Activity is themed by "gratefulness" and the main parts consists of an introduction of the Thanksgiving Day and the elementary teachings of ethnic languages. The purpose of the activity is to pass on the virtue of gratefulness to these children.

　　2. The event of "Love in South-Central University for Nationalities "in a particular month.

　　The event of "Love in South-Central University for Nationalities "in a particular month is a thematic activity ,intending to pass on the spirit of volunteerism ,expand the ranks of volunteers and innovate the forms of volunteer service.

　　3. Charity sale

　　This activity is held in November every year. At that time, the association will organize freshmen to sell newspapers. By selling newspapers, raising money for helpless people, the Activity can strengthen cohesion and spread the spirit of volunteerism.

　　4. Supporting education with love

　　The association have set up a group named “sunshine wings” to support education across the county with the help of the charity fund –“Overseas Chinese fund”. As a secondary complement to their major class, its core assignment is offering an access to information outside the rural villages, encouraging them to study hard to realize their dreams, convincing them to believe one’s life could be changed by having knowledge.
