3 RESEARCH FIELD
My research interests are in search of novel natural products from ethnomedicines, structure modifications and biological activities of active natural products. Chemical constituents and biological activities of more than 30 ethnomedicinal plants were studied. More than 1000 compounds were isolated and identified from those plants, involving terpenoids, alkaloids, flavonoids, phenylpropanoids and saponins, of which more than 200 new compounds and 10 compounds with new carbon skeleton were identified from those plants. A National Natural Science Foundation of China, two provincial and one national key laboratory projects have been completed. Three provincial science and technology achievement awards were obtained. More than 200 papers have been published in the domestic and foreign academic journals, of which more than 60 papers have been recorded in SCI.
