Accounting department of south-central university for nationalities was founded in 1989.After 20 years of innovation, the department of accounting has formed an undergraduate, graduate multiple level,multi-angle pattern of teaching which includes scientific research, social services and professional training of all-round, it currently recruits ordinary full-time undergraduate students and accounting professional(academic) master graduate students.

　　The department of accounting owns a qualified faculty of 10 members, of whom 1 is professor, 5 associate professors ,4 lecturers , and 5 of them possess a doctor's degree.

　　The department of accounting  not only has specialized laboratories and related software and facilities to meet the teaching and researching needs, but also has signed practice agreement with nearly 10 famous manufacturing enterprises or Certified Public Accountants Co.Ltd, which offer plenty of opportunities of combining theory with practice for students at all levels.

　　Master degree of accounting as a secondary discipline was formally approved in 2011. The department of accounting includes 1 provincial key institution: Risk Early Warning and Prevention Research Center of Colleges, and Enterprise Development and Capital Market Research in Ethnic Minority Areas. Accounting is the comprehensive reform pilot project of university in Hubei province. Meanwhile, the accounting principles course is granted provincial excellent courses in 2011, which named field brand profession in our university. Based on capital markets and financial accounting theory and practice research, the department of accounting highlights the characteristics of service for economic and social development in minority regions. In the recent 5 years , the faculty of the department has obtained 2 National Social Science Fund ,1 Excellent Talents Support Plan In The New Century, completed 20 research projects at national, provincial respectively, published 4 academic books and more than 100 academic papers in leading journal like China Soft Science ,Auditing Research ,Accounting Research ,Guangming daily ,China population resources and environment , Economic Science and so forth . Proudly speaking, more than 15 academic papers were embodied in CSSCI, EI, ISTP and reprint by RDFY.

　　The department of accounting has recruited accounting postgraduates since 1989, more than 2000 graduates have got the bachelor degree until now. It started the Master's Degree education in 1997 and has trained more than 100 graduate students. The employment rate of graduate student is up to 100% and the date of undergraduate students is about 90% . A great many students go abroad for further study. In practice activities, the students  obtained the excellent results in the national, provincial level innovation, entrepreneurship, and a program under which officials activity, among them, the national awards nearly 10, provincial and dozens of other kinds of award.
