On November 13, 2021, the academic seminar on "the Communist Party of China and the construction of the Chinese national community" jointly sponsored by the Marxism College of our university and the magazine "School Party Building and Ideological Education" was successfully held. More than 120 experts and scholars from more than 40 universities and scientific research institutions across the country, more than 10 media editors and journalists, as well as the heads of the Publicity Department of the Party committee of our university, the Academy of scientific research and development, the graduate school, the Research Institute of the Chinese national community and other units attended the meeting. In addition, more than 400 people attended the meeting online.
The opening ceremony of the seminar was presided over by Yang Shengcai, vice president ofSouth-Central Minzu University. The Secretary of the Party committee ofSouth-Central Minzu University Bian Jing delivered a speech and extended a warm welcome to everyone. He hoped that the experts and scholars attending the meeting would focus on the theme of "the Communist Party of China and the construction of the Chinese national community" so as to provide useful suggestions for promoting the high-quality development of the party's ethnic work, party history and Party Construction in Colleges and universities and the construction of the Chinese national community.
In his speech, Liu Aiguo, Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of the Hubei provincial Party committee, highlighted the need to adhere to the problem orientation, stressed the need to do a good job in publicity and education for the vast number of young people and imperceptibly guide young people to forge a strong sense of the Chinese nation community. Yu Liping, Secretary of the Party group of Hubei Federation of Social Sciences, called on everyone to actively respond to the call of the party and the state and consciously shoulder the important tasks of theoretical interpretation, ideological guidance, value guidance, public opinion publicity and scientific research. Wu Hongya, Deputy director of the ethnic and Religious Affairs Commission of Hubei Province, said that we should strive to build a Hubei model that firmly casts the consciousness of the Chinese nation community, and lead high-quality development by breaking the ice with ideas.
Xie Chengyu, President of the magazine "School Party Building and Ideological Education", said that the research on the Chinese national community is a major cutting-edge topic, which coincided with the convening of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee. Thus we should draw on the wisdom and strength of the Chinese nation's community construction and build a common spiritual home of the Chinese nation.
The subsequent keynote report was presided over by Xu Bocai, former deputy secretary of the Party committee ofSouth-Central Minzu University. Six experts and scholars from Xiangtan University, Fudan University, Beijing Normal University, Shandong University, Huazhong University of science and technology andSouth-Central Minzu University delivered keynote speeches around the theme of the conference. They have conducted in-depth interpretation and discussion from six aspects: the revolutionary spirit of the Communist Party of China, the construction of ideological leadership to promoting the construction of the Chinese national community, casting the consciousness of the Chinese national community and so on.
In the afternoon, the seminar was divided into three sub Forums: National Party History and Party Construction sub forum, ethnic (regional) universities sub forum and Hubei universities sub forum.
At the National Sub Forum on party history and Party building, Hu Huawei, editor of Guangming Daily, and Ha Zhengli, editor of Journal ofSouth-Central Minzu University, chaired the meeting. Experts and scholars from dozens of universities, including Renmin University of China, Wuhan University,South-Central Minzu University and Chinese Academy of social sciences, focused on the construction of the Chinese national community from the perspectives of history and reality, theory and practice to carry out a discussion. At the sub forum of colleges and universities for Nationalities (regions), Chen Juan of the editorial department of "Ideological and Theoretical Education Guide" and Professor Li Yuxiong of Guangxi University for Nationalities presided over the meeting. Experts and scholars from 12 colleges and universities, including the Central University for nationalities, Southwest University for nationalities, Northwest University for nationalities, Inner Mongolia University and Tibet University for nationalities, successively made keynote speeches. Relevant experts attending the seminar made wonderful comments.
At the Hubei University sub forum, Ming Haiying of "China Social Science Daily" and Professor Cao Shengliang of Wuhan Institute of Technology presided over the meeting. Experts and scholars from 12 Hubei universities, including Wuhan University, Huazhong University of science and technology, China University of Geosciences and Huazhong Normal University, successively made keynote speeches. Relevant participating professors also made wonderful comments on the keynote speeches of 12 scholars.
Wei Dajiang, Secretary of the Party committee of the school of Marxism of Central South University for nationalities, presided over the closing ceremony, and Yang Jinzhou, President of the school of Marxism, made a summary of the seminar. He believed that this academic conference was an academic event with high political standing, high conference specifications and high research enthusiasm. The meeting focused on the construction of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese nation community, and conducted in-depth discussion on major theoretical and practical topics, which was of great significance to promote the research and interpretation of the party's innovative theory and promote the deepening and practice of party history learning and education. At the same time, the launching ceremony of a series of works on the construction of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese national community by Professor Li Ziyuan of the college of Marxism of our university was also completed at the seminar.
