On June 13, our college held a special event titled “Journal Editors Meet Faculty”, inviting Professor Wu Dingyong, Associate Director of the Journal Department of Southwest Minzu University and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Ethnology, as the guest speaker. Nearly 20 faculty members attended, and the event was chaired by Vice Dean Qu Xiaolin.

Professor Wu delivered a talk titled “Academic Editors on Academic Paper Writing”, in which he systematically explained writing standards and techniques for core components such as topic selection, abstracts, literature reviews, and argumentation logic. He emphasized that topics should balance academic value and innovation, literature reviews should focus on cutting-edge developments and incorporate critical analysis, and all work must strictly adhere to academic norms. In the “one-on-one consultation” session, he provided targeted revision suggestions on the papers and outlines submitted by faculty members, addressing issues such as topic focus, innovation of viewpoints, and framework rationality. Participants found the guidance highly practical and pertinent.

In her concluding remarks, Vice Dean Qu Xiaolin noted that the event not only enhanced teachers’ academic writing skills but also fostered deeper scholarly exchange. She reaffirmed that our college will continue to build high-quality platforms to support faculty research development and advance discipline construction.
