On the morning of June 30th, the College of Marxism held the 64th navigational lecture. Professor Shi Hongbo from the School of Marxism of Shanghai Jiao Tong University was invited to deliver a special lecture titled "Spatial Dimensions of Ideological and Political Education in the AI Era ". Some teachers from our school and postgraduate students of the 2023 and 2024 grades attended the lecture,which was hosted by Vice Dean Qu Xiaolin.
In the lecture, closely following the cutting-edge of the times, Shi Hongbo focused on the issue of the spatial dimension of ideological and political education in the AI era, and conducted an in-depth analysis from three dimensions: spatial construction, utilization predicament, and spatial approach. Taking the impact of generative AI on the space of ideological and political education as a starting point, he combined real cases and pointed out that the new space of ideological and political education constructed based on generative AI has the characteristics of "disruptiveness, strong anthropomorphism, strong subjectivity, strong sense of deprivation, and high risk". He analyzed the existing risks in terms of security barriers, identification capabilities, ethical concepts, and rational cognition; The predicaments of its utilization in terms of efficiency, connection motivation and capability were explored, and in combination with the "Guidelines for Generative Artificial Intelligence in Education and Research", solutions such as strengthening spatial governance, enhancing theoretical supply and building a strong educational community were proposed.
During the interactive session, Professor Shi shared his thoughts and insights in response to questions raised by students, including the distinction between the space of ideological and political education and the context of ideological and political education, and how to efficiently read classic Marxist works.
Finally, Qu Xiaolin summarized of the lecture. She believed that Shi Hongbo's lecture not only stands at the forefront of academia but also accurately captures the ideological pulse of young people. It integrates theoretical height, practical warmth and future dimension, deepening the understanding and thinking of the teachers and students in our college on the spatial issues of ideological and political education in the AI era. It has significant guiding significance for teachers and students to actively explore new methods for the research of the discipline of Marxist theory in the digital intelligence era.
