On the morning of May 29th, Professor Wu Qiantao, one of the first batch of senior professors in humanities at Tsinghua University, director of the Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Education's College Ideological and Political Education Guidance Committee, director of the Academic Committee of the Tsinghua University Moral Education Research Center, director of the Tsinghua University Socialist Core Values Collaborative Innovation Center, and chief expert of the Central Marxist Theory Research and Construction Project, visited our university to guide the discipline construction work and held a discussion with representatives of our faculty. Ma Yutang, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of the university, Xu Bocai, former Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of our university, members of the college team, heads of various disciplines, and directors of the teaching and research office attended the symposium. The symposium was chaired by Ma Yutang.

Ma Yutang delivered a welcome speech and expressed gratitude to Professor Wu Qiantao for his long-term support for the construction of the college. Professor Wu Qiantao affirmed the achievements of the college's discipline construction and put forward suggestions for key work: firstly, strengthen the priority orientation of teaching, improve the evaluation system, enhance the training of young teachers, and promote the integration of scientific research and teaching; Secondly, we will focus on the construction of disciplinary connotations, using social science fund applications as a starting point to guide teachers to deepen their fixed academic directions, improve the quality of project applications, and strengthen communication with core journal editors; The third is to expand the academic exchange pattern, increase teachers' participation in high-level academic conferences, create a united and collaborative academic ecology, optimize internal management, enhance team cohesion, and promote the high-quality development of disciplines.
