Recently, the results of the 7th National University Students' Ideological and Political Class Open Class Presentation Event were announced. The event was hosted by the Higher Education Ideological and Political Theory Course Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education and organized by the School of Marxism at Nankai University. Our institute's submission, "Pomegranate Blossoms, Seeds of Unity—Forging a Strong Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation," received third prize in the undergraduate category nationwide.
The award-winning project was supervised by Teacher Jin Yao and collaboratively completed by students Wang Xueqing, Liu Tonghe, Zhang Jingqi, Wu Shihan, Yu Xinyu, and Liang Lihong. Based on the resources from the school's Ethnology Museum, the work is divided into three parts: "Pomegranate Flowers Bloom, Seeds Depend on Each Other", "Pomegranate Fruit, Carrying the Spirit", and "Pomegranate's Red Heart, Continuing the Red Legacy". It discusses the core principles and vivid practices of solidifying the consciousness of the Chinese national community, motivating young students to be the unbreakable "red ties" and flourishing "golden seeds" of the new era, and to solidify the sense of community for the Chinese nation through practical actions.
The theme of this 7th edition of the event was "New Ideas Lead New Journeys, New Youth Forge Ahead in the New Era". It aims to encourage universities to fully utilize the educational role of the "large-scale ideological and political class" practice teaching bases, promote teachers to guide student teams in innovatively delivering "ideological and political classes in action" and "venue-based ideological and political classes", thereby continually enhancing the effectiveness of practical teaching in ideological and political education. Our School of Marxism will continue to focus on the fundamental task of moral education and talent cultivation, continuously improve the relevance and appeal of ideological and political classes, and guide students to strive to be aspiring, daring, resilient, and hard-working youth of China in the new era.
