On the evening of October 9, Bian Jing, the secretary of the Party Committee of our school arrived at the teaching building 11 and went deep into the "Introduction to Xi Jinping's Thought of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in a New Era" classroom, which was mainly taught by Professor Yi Xintao and Professor Zhang Yi. During the break, he came to the class which was mainly taught by Professor Yan Zhanding and had in-depth exchanges with the teachers and students in the classroom. Party Secretary Wei Dajiang, President Yang Jinzhou and Vice President Dong Jie from the College of Marxism attended the lecture.
Bian Jing affirmed the teacher's lecture preparation and epidemic prevention measures in the classroom. He paid close attention to the students' understanding of basic concepts, their grasp of the background of the times, and the classroom atmosphere of teacher-student interaction and other teaching links. He also put forward guiding suggestions on how to improve the teaching quality of this course. Besides, he emphasized that the essence of the ideological and political course is to be reasonable. That is to say, we should adhere to the principle of "putting politics first, being logical and close to reality", and appropriately use fresh cases to stimulate students' autonomy and enthusiasm in learning. What’s more, the teaching contents of "Introduction to Xi Jinping's Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era" and "Introduction to Mao Zedong Thought and the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics" should be well connected to avoid simple overlapping.
President Yang Jinzhou said that the college will actively implement the guidance of the higher authorities on opening the course of "Introduction to Xi Jinping's Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era", continue to pay attention to collective lesson preparation, improve the quality of the lessons, and cultivate people with Xi Jingping's socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era.
It is reported that in July this year, the Party Committee of our College set up a curriculum construction working group of "Introduction to Xi Jinping's Thought of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in a New Era", and various departments of the University supported the course in many ways.
