On the morning of September 17, the College of Marxism held the opening ceremony for 2022 undergraduate students in Classroom 101 of No. 1 Teaching Building. Wei Dajiang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Academy, Yang Jinzhou, President, Mei Xiping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Academy, Dong Jie, Vice President, Zhang Taohua, Vice President and professional teachers of the Academy attended the ceremony. Chen Weilong, secretary of the Youth League Committee of the College, student cadres of the Student Union of the Youth League Committee and all 2022 undergraduate students attended the ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Mei Xiping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Academy.
Yang Jinzhou, the dean, warmly welcomed the arrival of the 2022 freshmen and introduced the basic situation of the college, faculty, student work and the prospect of discipline development. Later, he put forward several hopes and suggestions for the freshmen: first, students should be ambitious and virtuous, and truly learn, understand and use knowledge; Second, students should work out learning plans by stages and categories to promote academic development; Third, students should always be optimistic, cheerful, grateful, and learn to take responsibility while maintaining eternal optimism.
On behalf of the teachers, Zhang Chunzhi began with a question on how to practice the original mission. He hoped that the freshmen would have enough strength, courage, wisdom and ability to plan their lives and create history under the conditions of their own times, and become a new generation with lofty ideals, noble moral character, tenacious will, rich knowledge and pioneering spirit on the way to comprehensively promote the socialist modernization cause.
Fu Xinhang, the 2019 senior student representative, is full of confidence in the future development of the freshmen. She put forward suggestions on campus life, professional study and knowledge accumulation, and hoped that all freshmen could open a new chapter in their lives in the College of Marxism and make achievements.
Xiao Yao, the representative of the 2020 Youth League, shared his thoughts and insights in college life. He explained the meaning of college life with "one goal", "two passions" and "three kinds of beauty", and called on everyone to think positively, arm themselves with knowledge, enrich themselves with culture, try to exercise themselves in various activities, and save more strength for their future.
Wu Shihan, the representative of the 2022 freshmen, expressed her joy and excitement at at her life in the Marxist College of South-Central Minzu University. She hoped to struggle for her dream with all the students of the Marxist College, maintain the attitude of struggle, share the same fate with the country and progress with the times.
Wei Dajiang, secretary of the Party Committee of the Academy, made a concluding speech and put forward several requirements for the freshmen. That is to say, the freshmen should be fully aware of the historical responsibility of the discipline of Marxist theory to ensure the continuity of the cause of the Party and the country, and the mission responsibility of ideological work in the competition between the two systems.
