Our school has established an ideological and political theory teaching alliance with many universities in Wuhan, and relies on the “Navigation Cup” practical education festival to innovatively carry out ideological and political practical education activities. On the morning of July 12, the closing ceremony and commendation meeting of the 9th “Navigation Cup” Practice Education Festival of our school was held online.
This year’s Navigation Cup has four sub-events, including essay contest, speech contest, micro-video contest, and case analysis contest, with the theme of “The whole nation fight against COVID-19, youth responsibility”. The organizer in charge, teachers and students of the college of Marxism, off campus experts and award-winning representatives attended the closing ceremony.
Zhang Taohua, deputy dean of the College of Marxism, presided over the closing ceremony and introduced the basic situation of the Navigator Cup. This event was jointly organized by 4 universities including Wuhan University of Technology, Huazhong Agricultural University, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, and Wuhan University of Technology. More than 1,000 entries from the five universities were sent to the event, 103 of which were finally awarded. Both the number of entries and the number of winning entries hit a record high.
Wei Dajiang, secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Marxism, and Mei Xiping, deputy secretary, successively announced the list of award-winning students both on and off campus of this event. The winners will be commended.
Zhu Zhe, dean of the College of Marxism, Wuhan University of Technology, Liang Weijun, dean of the College of Marxism, Huazhong Agricultural University, Gong Xianqing, dean of the College of Marxism, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, and Shu Xianlin, Party Secretary of the College of Marxism, Wuhan Polytechnic University, delivered speeches successively to highly praise the preparations for the Navigator Cup and the positive results of the activity and give high evaluations to the entries of students. Experts unanimously stated that South-Central University for Nationalities has explored successful experience in the practical teaching of ideological and political theory courses. In the future, it must be well summarized and learned, and the "Navigation Cup" practical education activities will be better and better.
Yang Jinzhou, dean of the College of Marxism, delivered a closing speech. Dean Yang Jinzhou pointed out that the "Navigation Cup" activity has three distinct characteristics: always grasping the correct orientation, closely focusing on teaching content, and insisting on model and mechanism innovation. After years of progress, this event has already formed a practical education activity with class hours, funds, organization, evaluation, mechanism, mode and influence. Finally, Dean Yang Jinzhou said that this "Navigation Cup" was held in Wuhan, the national epidemic center, and was held in the form of a university alliance, which has overcome many obstacles and difficulties, and demonstrated the mental outlook and mission of Wuhan university students in the epidemic, and also showed the quality and spirit of teachers who are not afraid of difficulties and have the courage to make dedication.
