The School of Economics Held Professional Diversion Experience Sharing Sessions for Students of Grade 2021

(By Mo Xiue from the School of Economics) In order to promote the orderly development of professional diversion work and help students understand the characteristics of each major, the School of Economics held professional diverting experience sharing sessions in batches from April 9th to 10th. Student representatives of different majors were invited to share their understanding of professional knowledge and learning experience. Zhang Zhuyun, Counselor of Grade 2021, some class tutors, all the class assistants of Grade 2021 participated in the sharing sessions, and all the students of Grade 2021 attended.

The student representatives explained in detail the professional prospects, development directions, course contents, and learning methods. Yang Weili from Economic Pilot Class 1901, gave a detailed introduction about Economics major from the aspects of the professional concept of economics, core courses, teachers and the main flow of graduates. Li Kaiwei from Financial Engineering Class 1903, illustrated the difference between Finance and Financial Engineering in many mays, and shared his study methods such as how to keep your thinking clearly, how to take study notes carefully, paying more attention to professional practices, and seeing to strengthen communication with teachers. Gong Yu from Insurance Class 1802, stressed the need to correct their professional learning mentality and improve their professional cognition level combined with her personal learning and postgraduate entrance examination experience. The student representatives also answered the questions from the students during the interactive questioning period. The atmosphere of the sessions were active.

Professor Shen Daoquan, the tutor of Class 2103, suggested that no matter what major you choose, you should lay a solid foundation for undergraduate level study. In the undergraduate stage, college students mainly learn and master the public knowledge of the subject, that is, the basic knowledge that has been accepted and written into textbooks. Only by building a solid foundation can we have a better development in the professional field in the future.

Zhang Zhuyun, Counselor of Grade 2021, pointed it out that students should take a serious attitude towards professional diversion, and carefully choose their own major based on their own interests and hobbies. She hoped that the students can clear their own goals, reasonably plan future direction, solid learn professional knowledge so as to lay good foundation for the future career development.

The sharing sessions helped the students of Grade 2021 deepen the understanding of various majors and was good for them to make scientific and reasonable academic plan for themselves.
