The 11th National Science Popularization Explanation Competition was held in Guangzhou from November 13th to 15th, 2024. 247 contestant from 74 representative teams nationwide competed on the same stage, presenting a wonderful and diverse science popularization feast for the audience. Our beautiful Elifila Erkenjiang together with another faculty at SCMZU won the third prize in the national competition. Congratulations!
Elifila Erkenjiang took famous poet Li Bai's poem "Purple Smoke from a Sunlit Incense Burner" as a starting point to guide the audience to explore the world of optics, popularize the optical phenomenon of Rayleigh scattering, and explain its applications in air pollution detection, traffic signals, and other fields. The explanations were natural and smooth, with outstanding scientific knowledge, which received rounds of applause from the audience and unanimous recognition from the judges!
