Founded in 1841, the Royal Society of Chemistry is the oldest chemical academic group in the world and the largest chemical science group in Europe. It is also one of the most influential international authoritative societies in the world. The society selects scientists who have made outstanding achievements in the field of chemical science research and made outstanding contributions to promoting the development of chemical science as its members every year according to the recommendations of experts. Nearly 80 Nobel laureates are among the members of the society.

Professor Daohong Zhang is a leading talent of the National Ethnic Affairs Commission, an outstanding talent of the Ministry of Education in the New Century, supported by the Hubei Provincial Outstanding Youth Fund, and enjoys Special Subsidies from the People's Government of Hubei Province. Now he is the Executive Deputy Director of the Key Laboratory of Catalytic Transformation and Energy Materials Chemistry of the Ministry of Education. The hyperbranched polymer team led by him has been selected as the Natural Science Innovation Group of Hubei Province, the Innovation Team of the National Ethnic Affairs Commission and the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Strategy Team of Hubei Province, and has created and served as the director of the Hubei Engineering Research Center for Hyperbranched Polymer Synthesis and Application Technology. He has been engaged in the research of hyperbranched polymer synthesis and application for over 10 years, focusing on the R&D and practical industrial application of new energy wind power and automotive polymer materials, and has made important progress and significant academic achievements. In recent years, more than 100 high-level papers on research achievements have been published in Nature Sustainability, Angelette Chemie International Edition, ACS Nano, Progress in Materials Science, ACS Macro Letters, Macrotubes and other journals as corresponding authors. In addition, he presided more than 40 national natural science funds, sub topics of science and technology support plan, torch plan, provincial major special projects, provincial key research and development projects and enterprise entrusted projects. Moreover, he has more than 70 national invention patents. He has made more than 40 invited reports and academic reports at international and domestic conferences, and won two first prizes of the Science and Technology Invention Award of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, one first prize of the Science and Technology Invention Award of Hubei Province, the Golden Bridge Award of China's Technology Market, the Outstanding Contribution Award of the Youth of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation and other honors as the first winner.
