According to the latest data released by Essential Science Indicators (ESI) of Kerui Weian (formerly Thomson Reuters) on May 13, 2021, our Material Science of  SCUN entered the top 1% of ESI global disciplines for the first time.

This is another major breakthrough in discipline construction of SCUN since Chemistry ranked among the top 1% of ESI in November 2015 and Engineering in September 2019. The ESI data statistics show that there were 377 ESI papers published by Materials Science of our university, with a total of 7359 citations, and the frequency of citations is 19.52. SCUN ranked 1004 among the 1015 institutions that entered the world's top 1% of ESI material science.

It is worth mentioning that during this period, 1167 ESI papers were published in the Chemistry discipline of our university, with a total of 19469 citations, and its international ranking increased significantly compared with 2015 (1094/1103=0.99) (800/1421≈0.56); A total of 314 ESI papers have been published in Engineering discipline, with a total of 4099 citations, and its international ranking has also been rapidly improved compared with 2019 (1468/1468=1) (1393/1722≈0.81).

So far, the number of disciplines ranked in the top 1% of ESI in the world has increased to 3, marking that the disciplines of Chemistry, Material Science and Engineering have entered the ranks of international high-level disciplines. Congratulations!
