Prof. Ping Xu, the Academy of Military Medical Sciences visited the College of Chemistry and Materials Science, on May. 10th. At 11:00 am, Prof. Xu gave a lecture entitled "the application of proteomics in cell signal transduction research" at the meeting room. The seminar was chaired by Prof. Xian Wang. The faculty members and graduate students of our college and of the college of biology attended this seminar.
From 2005 to 2009, Prof. Xu perused his postdoctoral study in Emory University, USA, major in Proteomics and Protein ubiquitin. Since 2009, Prof. Xu has worked as a PI research for the Academy of Military Medical Sciences and at the Peking research center ofproteomics. He has published over 50 research papers, 6 Chinese invention patents, taken in charge of a number of research projects including a national "863" projects.
During this academic seminar, Prof. Xu firstly introduced the history of chemistry and brought us to the ocean of the proteomics. Prof. Xu explained the significance of protein ubiquitin and its role in cell signal transduction research. Prof. Xu also introduced the recent research work of his team in the field of protein ubiquitin and the future perpectives. At the end, Prof. Xu answered many questions from the teachers and students and gave some advice on their research projects.
